Expo group & all that works!
Being in the expo group was one of the challenging job and responsibility ever! I had my group to thankful for giving me one of the biggest challenges and responsibility to learn and be part of this expo group. At the same time, I have learnt so much being part of the expo group as the only person who is responsible for finding the sponsorship to fund for the transportation for the Karlskrona...

wrapping it up
Ok, so a little late-night-time-alone-reflection to sum things up. So fuck it, we didn’t manage to get it to work for the major part of the expo, but I’m so proud of what we have achieved during these five weeks that “frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”. Our theories about this sudden malfunctioning are 1) the microcontroller (possibly the memory?) burned out during...

coating and soldering
What we did next was to coat the installation, the coating was intoxicating and made us all dizzy, it’s good to have it done, then some in our group started with the soldering. Let’s see how much we really have to do tomorrow, the day before “The day”. Tired but really excited about all of the installations, can’t wait for the exhibition! ; Eleonora

The thing is that other classes have lectures in studio 2 witch mean 1. either we have to move 2. or stay quiet for a while until they are done. Because its friday we think they will head of early and make as the bumble-bee BUZZ OF. Its now less than a week until everything has to be done and I am honest when I say I´m not that...

Technical update aka "Love Fool"
Long time no see ms. internet blogish thing! My baby child arrived monday and she’s the hippest girl in the block. IPAC-2 is the name of my amazing girl which was from the beginning meant to be used with arcade cabinets (MAME). It can handle 32 inputs simultaneously. This is compared to a regular I/O as a keyboard which can handle 4-5 inputs simultaneously included ghosting problems. Well,...

A case of the mondays
Today we’ve done a lot of planning and researching materials and potential lupe holes to get free stuff (such as ordering free samples of things) and tomorrow is the day that we begin to get our hands dirty for real!  Ebbe and Jocke where off to get some free wood from Blocket and came back with plenty, so we hope we can use some of it. With that and the help of Matilda’s secret...

Graphic profile
This week we’ve been working hard on finishing the graphic profile, AND we have chosen a name for the project: LU/OX (MESH). LU/OX is a mash up between two latin words: VOX (which means sound/voice) and LUX (light), and MESH for the grid system which we use on the floor and in the software.  To show of the grid I came up with the idea of using 3d mesh-inspired visuals in the logotype. The...

Follow-ups process session with Lena Nellgren
After some problem with overslept group members and not exactly knowing about what we where going to do we finally got in contact with Lena Nellgren who was supposed to help us with the our group dynamic. We did consider either if Claire would stay in the group or she would go to the Expo team. After some back and forth the group decided that she should stay and we all agreed that is was a good...

Today in text
We started out the day with reading through our feedback from KNA, they were harsh but we don’t mind, we are awesome, as they said in our feedback with the specialists, hehehehhh… After lunch we had a huge discussion about our feedback, we decided to have their feedback in mind and instead start researching on material, especially the material for the floor. We succeeded to find some...

Concept
After a pretty harmless slaughter of the 4 ideas we had from yesterday we’ve chosen one concept: THE LIGHTROOM!   And I have to say that this was a very big process because we’ve gone down from approx 50 ideas to 1 in 2 days. AWESOME JOB GUYS! We started to form the concept by drawing our personal vision of it and then share it with the others, after that we looked if we had any...

BRAINSTORMING DAY!
… and also the second day of the Arduino workshop! Except for making a mini-disco with coding and lamps attached to a piece of plastic, the smallest speaker I’ve ever seen and a poorly made Super Mario theme flowing out of it, we’ve actually taken a big step forward today! Both in terms of  the process of the project, but also in group dynamics. The group seems a lot more happy...

Group meeting 3/10-11
Host: Matilda, Harvester: Linn The blog: We decided to step it up when it comes to the blogposts. Questions that came up were the issue of who and when will update it to make sure we will have at least one post a day. Host and harvester will decide who has the main responsibility that day. Research: The scheduled research deadline is postponed til’ after the first brainstorming, which we will have...

Small circuit board and blinking lamps
So This Guy David Cuartielles got all the way from Malmö to learn and show us how the small Arduino-boards works and how to work between the software and the circuit board. There is lots of programming and information to learn. and this definitely going to take some time to learn(at least for me). We did some lights to blink and some buttons to work.   Sites to remember and was used during the...

Introducing to Arduino
It’s been an interesting and somehow confusing day learning the Arduino platform, programming & technology. Our lecture David Cuartielles seems to be pretty good at what this Arduino thing. However, I found today interesting in a way that how much some people can excel their knowledge & ability and pick up this lecture and do better than others. Even though many of us who...

A day of arduino!
Today we have had a day of Arduino-workshop, we have learned the basics of arduino and processing. We know about the theme now, Play with Hyper Island, personally I think it will be real fun. We are going to have a meeting soon and talk a little more within the group. It’s going to be awesome to start brainstorming on this topic. I look forward to it and I think we are going to come up with...

Expo theme summary
So this is how we chose to summarize our theme-suggestion for the expo: The theme We have this theme for the exhibition where we vision ourselves at the verge of an apocalypse: the Hypercalypse. This we predict will happen midday at 11.10.27 (at the exhibition day). The Hypercalypse is actually not an dystopian happening with mass destruction and death, but more a vision about what happens when...
